Cor completed his MFA degree as a media composer and orchestrator with Thinkspace Education & Chichester University UK, in May 2024. Before dedicating his energy to music composition, he worked many years in healthcare as an anaesthesiologist and clinical researcher.
A life of Music & Science
Switching from medicine and clinical science to music for media may at first sight seem like a strange career switch. Here is the story: as a passionate 17 year old musician I had to choose between conservatory (strictly classical at the time) or medicine. It was to be medicine, and I had a wonderful career in anesthesia, working in the operating room and mentoring talented young people towards a PhD. Yet, I always remained an avid musician, playing in bands and studying classical and jazz piano. Retiring from medicine was a unique window of opportunity to reinvent myself and study to become a composer.

Creating audiovisual works is more a collaborative effort than an individual artistic process. As an avid film lover, I enjoy working with directors and musicians to enhance the production.
